Technology tools aim to boost workplace efficiency

Businesses with workflow automation or recruitment software will have a distinct productivity and efficiency advantage in coming years.

This result from a survey of more than 2,100 chief financial officers conducted by Robert Half Management Resources that revealed that using technology tools is the top time management strategy.

Increasing efficiency and productivity levels is a constant headache for employees, however, this survey offers some insight into what works and what doesn't.

According to the survey, 35 per cent of respondents believe taking greater advantage of technological tools has the greatest benefit. This was followed by delegating more responsibilities (also 35 per cent), spending less time in meetings (20 per cent) and travelling less frequently (8 per cent).

Paul McDonald, senior executive director for Robert Half, explained technology use is ever-increasing in businesses and it can help with time management and organisational efficiency standards.

"Technology tools, such as smartphones and tablets, can help professionals save time and provide them added flexibility," he said.

"However, executives also should prioritise keeping their company's information technology and financial systems current to help their organisations become faster and more productive."

Delegating jobs and roles was also highlighted by Mr McDonald after analysing the results of the survey. He said that as well as increasing your own time management, it lends itself to planning for the future.

"Giving employees the opportunity to take on new challenges prepares them to move up in the firm and gives managers a sense of where additional training may be needed," he concluded.

Recruitment software is designed to make the process much easier for performance-centric employment agencies. Instead of running multiple platforms of data, the software streamlines all the functions and increases operational capability.

Simplifying key processes in your business can make a huge difference to your bottom line. As well as making the job easier for employees, your time management will also improve significantly.
