AusKey Decommissioning
The ATO is decommissioning AusKey as of 11.59pm AEDT on Friday 27 March 2020. AusKey is the mechanism by which interactions between your business and the ATO are authenticated. That includes, but is not limited to, Single Touch Payroll reporting from FastTrack360. Here's what you need to know.
What is replacing AusKey?
AusKey is being replaced by a combination of Machine Credentials, MyGovID, and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM). For more information about these, see https://info.authorisationmanager.gov.au/business-software-user-or-provider, www.mygovid.gov.au, and www.authorisationmanager.gov.au.
How does this affect FastTrack360?
FastTrack360 uses an AusKey digital certificate as an authentication mechanism to facilitate secure communication with the ATO when submitting Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports to the ATO. The AusKey certificate is hosted in the FastTrack cloud.
The AusKey certificate must be replaced with a new machine credential to facilitate STP reporting post 27 March.
What will FastTrack do?
FastTrack will roll out a change in the cloud environment in the coming weeks to replace the AusKey digital certificate with the necessary machine credential. This change will be done outside of business hours with no disruption to Business As Usual. You will not experience any differences in functionality because of the change. Communications will be sent out to confirm when this has been completed.
What does your business need to do?
Your business must transition to MyGovID/RAM by 27 March. This is required not just for STP reporting; all digital interactions between your business and the ATO that are currently facilitated through AusKey will require your business to have transitioned to the new authentication mechanism.
You can make the transition to MyGovID/RAM at any time between now and the AusKey decommissioning date without any effect on STP reporting in FastTrack360.
